Started in 2013 by Olivia Wilson with one client and a second-hand hoover. Now a team of DBS-checked cleaners covering flats, houses and offices.
Our Story
Olivia Wilson started Sparkle & Shine Cleaning in 2013 after years cleaning houses on her own around Camden. The first client was a two-bedroom flat above a bakery on Parkway. Word moved fast, mostly through recommendations at the school gate and the odd landlord passing her number along.
By 2016 there were four cleaners working under the name, all trained the same way Olivia had learned herself: check the corners, never rush the bathroom, and leave the kitchen last so it doesn't get walked through again. That approach hasn't changed much since.
Every cleaner who joins goes through a DBS check and a paired trial visit before working alone. We keep the team smaller than some competitors on purpose, because it means Olivia still knows most of the people doing the cleaning, not just the names on a spreadsheet.
Ten years on, the business covers regular house cleaning, deep cleans, end of tenancy work, and small office contracts across north London. The second-hand hoover has long since been replaced, but the standard hasn't moved.
